Happy New Year everyone, or Chinese New Year that is! With this impending holiday comes the shut down of all China-based factories from February 1st to February 25th. This means that all American Cell Phone & Tablet Part distributors will not be receiving stock for roughly three weeks, and as a result, we will not have anything incoming should our current stock run out.
Fear not though! Below we included a list of ways to prepare you and your shop for the temporary shut down.
1. Stock up.
While we’ve secured a large stock of inventory to bring us through the Chinese New Year, pricing increases are likely and there is still a chance we could run out of some items. To ensure you’re getting the best pricing and that there are still items available to you, we recommend stocking up early. This way, you can be comfortable knowing you’re prepared for the next couple of weeks.
2. Expect the unexpected.
Life likes throwing curveballs at us. Sometimes, the repair that you’ve only had to do once or twice before suddenly becomes the primary repair that you’re doing the most. This is just the nature of game, but during the Chinese New Year, this minor notation can become problematic quickly. If you’re on the fence about purchasing a part, it may be a good idea to do so anyway.
3. Don’t forget tools and accessories.
Though we don’t usually associate accessories and tools with stock issues surrounding the Chinese New year, the truth is that they’re affected also. Keep this in mind when placing your part orders to avoid any slack in your stock for customers.
4. Compensate for defects.
While we make ever effort to ensure you’re getting the best parts imaginable, the occasional defect is bound to happen. Because of this, we recommend you compensate any potential defects by ordering extra. That way, you’re not left with a stock dilemma and an unhappy customer should one occur.
5. Create realistic expectations with your customers.
Despite all your preparation, like during any other time of year, there is still a chance that something unexpected could happen. With that in mind, the best thing you can do is to create realistic expectations for your customers in terms of part availability and turnaround time for service. Keeping things open and honest will prevent any added frustration should any further hiccups take place.
