A Look Ahead: Android Phones We Can’t Wait to See in 2016

We’re nearly half way through the year, and with some of us sporting new Galaxy S6’s, it’s hard to consider that new technology was already on the horizon, even before our phones were being packaged. In terms of innovation, we’re part of an industry that doesn’t take much time for sleep. Because of this, there is always something to get excited about. While we still have a ways to go before the start of 2016, there are some Android gadgets scheduled to be released that are already peaking our interest.

Rumored Specs: With an anticipated formal announcement not taking place until March 2016, there is a lot to speculate about the this device. That being said, the LG G5 will likely come in 5 colors, have 3 internal memory options, and carry a 4100 mAh battery. It’s also expected to have a 4K, 5.6″ Sapphire display making pictures clear and lifelike.

Why We’re Excited: Gone are the days of the fingerprint scanner. The LG G5 is rumored to boast an eye scanner that will increase security even more. In addition, not only will the design be waterproof, but foldable. How cool is that?

Samsung Galaxy S7

General Specs: With the curved display we’ve come to expect from smartphones, along with a fingerprint scanner and waterproof design, the GS7 will be a perfect follow up to the G6. What separates it will be it’s processor. With a 2.9 GHZ quad-core 810 processor. the GS7 is anticipated to be one of the most technologically advanced smartphones in 2016.

Why We’re Excited: With a 4K OLED display, 4000 mAh battery, and variable memory options we expect that the GS7 will impress loyal Android users, and spark the curiosity of Apple devotees.

LG G Flex 3

Rumored Specs: LG is looking to upgrade all their processors on smart devices in 2016 and the G Flex 3 will be no different. Boasting an Octa-Core 8.9 GHZ processor and 4 GB of RAM, making multitasking on this device seamless. It’s rumored that the new processor will also demand 25% less battery, upgrading the phone’s efficiency dramatically.

Why We’re Excited: While it appears that Apple and Samsung have been trying to one-up each other for the last few years, LG has always seemed to march to the beat of it’s own drum. Like the G5, it is rumored to have the foldable design. If you love your LG Flex, but hate the cameras, the G Flex 3’s front and rear cameras will carry quality that might not be on par with other Android phones, but will still be quite the upgrade from previous generations.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6

Rumored Specs: Boasting a 4K 6″ screen, the new Note 6 is anticipated to be bigger and better looking.  It’s 4200 mAh battery will increase the efficiency of this already reliable mobile device. While the octal-core will likely become standard for the devices of 2016, the 5 GB of RAM will be an added bonus of the Note 6.

Why We’re Excited: It will have a retina scanner! There are few things we love more than retina scanners, except maybe our Chicago teams dominating in the playoffs, but only just. Also, its 4K display is expected to have 4X the resolution of regular HD.
